Suavecito Original Hold Pomade Review

First off, I want to apologize for the awkwardness in the video as well as any confusion. This written review should supplement and more definitively illustrate the points I was trying to convey.
Suavecito Original Hold Pomade comes in a 4 oz. plastic container decorated by its yellow/brown/black color combination, which exudes a bit of coolness. Upon opening the cap, a strong, coke/cologne-like scent will immediately hit you. Trust me, it’s not anything that will throw you way off. This smell has always pleased me.
ooking inside, you’ll see a thick jello-like substance. It’s described as having a “creamy consistency” on the website, but to me, this pomade closely resembles a gel’s consistency. It’s heavy and thick when you initially scoop it out of the container. Look at this sucker hang!
Once you start spreading it around your palms, you’ll immediately notice that it’ll get wet and sticky. Running this through my hair, however, was painless and smooth given the sticky feel of the pomade. It’s hard to tell what part of my hair has been covered and what part wasn’t due to the fact that its application was “dry” to the feel. You’ll find out soon enough after combing though.
Combing my hair was easy peasy. If you’ve already had some time developing the way you style your hair, this shouldn’t impede that process in any way. It does however, take a bit more precision, meaning a bit more time.
If you put enough, your hair should be real neat. The hold on this stuff is medium-to-strong, as long as the application is thorough. If it isn’t, you’ll notice plenty of stray hairs around your head since this is a water-based pomade, meaning it’ll lack the cohesiveness that oil-based pomades have.
I haven’t had the chance to try the Firme (Strong) hold yet, but this Original Hold has my approval in its ability to hold up wavy and relatively thick hair. As it dries, it hardens and gives a hold that’s strong enough for my hair to last throughout the day.
Overall, I’m satisfied. A good “manly” scent. A gel-like substance with wax-like application. An easy comb. A matte shine and good hold. Definitely try it for yourself.
