Cool Grease XXX Pomade Review

We postponed the review of Cock Grease XX because Cool Grease had decided to put it through a relabel. And so now, we're looking at Cool Grease XXX. Essentially, identical to Cock Grease XX but with a much better name and face.

In all honesty, the Cool Grease line offers so many effin' options that it's almost impossible for them to vary much between each product or rather, offer completely unique pomades. It's this weird self-over-saturation. Either way, there still good products nevertheless.

Design

The relabel is a huge upgrade over the previous one -- not visually but as a product in general. Cock Grease. That name gets a few giggles and what not, but it's definitely a turn off. It's comical on some middle-school-level shit. So, I'm all for this new label.

Scent

The smell is a piña colada type of scent. It's like the candy version of the drink.

Consistency

Same exact texture and feel as Cool Grease Red or Blue. They all have a very similar soft and jelly texture. Scooping it out is easy and you'll notice it can't hold its own weight. After you scoop and leave the pomade for a few hours, you'll see it settle back down to a glossy finish in the jar.

Application

Despite being more on the heavier/stronger side, this pomade applies very easily. As a water-based pomade, it has a gel-like texture than makes it easy to spread. Without being sticky or grippy, you won't have any issues with this pomade.

Slickness

For a water-based pomade (this applies to the entire Cool Grease line), there are little to no stray hairs with this pomade. It keeps everything together, and you shouldn't have any issues with that.

Shine

Shine is good. This also applies to the entire Cool Grease line.

Strength

The brute strength of this pomade is a halfway between medium and heavy.

Control

In comparison to some of the lighter products from Cool Grease, this pomade has more control. The presence of more hold makes this pomade predictable, or at least, more predictable than the others.

Endurance

Should last the entire day.

Restyleability

This pomade somewhat settles and so, it will be even easier to restyle.

Hardness

Settles but does NOT dry.

Rinseability

Washes out 100%.

Conclusion

Out of the entire Cool Grease line, this is one of the better products that I would use. It's not that different at all from the Red or Blue, but only a very experience user will be able to differentiate. If you're looking at the Cool Grease line, this is one that I'd recommend.
