Nike [FW 2017]

Despite the rise of Adidas among hypebeasts and streetwear fanatics, Nike still reigns supreme in my eyes. Not only is their industrial design work far superior, the logic and quality of their construction is uncontested -- especially when you consider their unique balance between aesthetic form and real-world function.

(Updated as new items are announced and released for the season).

You should notice a general theme going on here which is a fascination with their sturdy yet flexible materials. For example, pure spandex is very flexible, but it has this cheap and slick texture. On the other hand, something like carded cotton has a gritty feel that suggests a formidable resilience. In the fabrics they use for their Flyknit, Aeroswift, and Swift collections, the fabrics feel strong yet easily flexible for comfort.
